New shape Ford Capri announced

With the advent of the ‘credit crunch’ it appears that the staff shortages within the main car manufacturers is within the ‘new cars’ departments as Ford have followed Vauxhall, Toyota and VW with the re-release of an old favourite – the Capri. With the success of the latest generation VW Scirocco within the UK market Ford will be looking to bringing out the big guns with this iconic name in motoring. After successfully bringing the RS model back to life in its Focus RS incarnation they will be looking to go up against the Scirocco and New Renault Megane Coupe with this Capri. Its launch will also signify the new look face for future Ford models including the Cmax but with the 3Door Capri styled with the Audi style LED lights and deep set air intakes. The model will more than likely be topped with the inclusion of a 2.0 litre 200bhp Eco turbo engine instead of a more potent 2.5 Litre 5 cylinder turbo from the Focus ST. In these environmentally conscious times – let’s hope this isn’t a sign of things to come from our favourite petrol turbo engines.
