New UK ‘inteligent’ speed cameras soon

Intelligent speed cameras will soon be a feature on the UK’s roads within the next 18 months with the testing process well under way for cameras that dont flash, cover multiple lanes and can also distinguish between cars and heavy goods vehicles. On many UK roads there are different speed limits for lorries and cars and the current speed camera system cannot adjust for the two different limits.
The UK highways agency have also announced plans to spend £58 Million on digital cameras to monitor the hard shoulder usage – some credit crunch hey!
