Police launch HGV model on UK motorways

This is one vehicle that you probably thought you would never see! This Police liveried lorry is a real Police car and has been issued to the Central motorway group and will be cruising as part of the West Midlands force covering Cheshire and South Wales. Complete with flashing lights this HGV has been introduced to help clamp down on all the naughty lorry drivers that might be using their mobile phones while on move or watching a crafty DVD! The reasoning behind this is that the Police cannot see up into the cabs from their patrol cars so require the additional height the cab gives them. The cab will prowl around with one officer riding shotgun armed with a camera to film any wrong doing and will allow the Police officers to call for back up from an unmarked car following behind – how exciting!
