BMW 3 series 335iS

The picture above is of the latest model 3 series coupe to fit in the model range inbetween the M3 and the 335i and will be initially aimed at the US and Canadian markets.The 335iS will use the 322bhp N44 twin-turbo six-cylinder 3.0-litre engine with 332 lb ft of peak torque (369 lb ft with the overboost function) When equipped with the auto gearbox the 335iS can power from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and comes with the usuall M Sport equipment.

BMW new M5 spy shots

It’s now twenty five years since the BMW M5 was launched and the M division has begun development of the 5th generation model. This version is set to be the first version to adopt turbochargers in its engine build so should be an exciting version. Using a similar unit as that in the Z5 AND X6 M the M5 would be expected to produce more that the 555 bhp in these two. The power delivery will also come in sooner with much greater low end torque and the V8’s peak power should arrive around 6000 rpm compared to the 7750rpm of the V10. An advanced cooling system will also be integrated due to the nature of using turbo powered engines as an intercooler will be required. Other advancements BMW are looking at are the use of Carbon fibre in the body shell – with roof and boot lid being replaced. LED lighting will be fitted as seems to now be the norm with all manufacturers following Audi’s lead.

BMW Alpina B7 Long wheelbase at Tokyo Motor show

Alpina recently chose the Tokyo motor show to release their latest Flagship model – the B7 Bi Turbo Limousine. Billed as being the fastest limo in the world this long wheel base version is an option that can be specified when ordering. Built upon the BMW 7 series the Alpina B7 is the companies 4th generation version and is fitted with a twin turbocharged 4.4 litre V8 that promises 507 bhp and torque of 700Nm. 0-100km/h is completed in only 4.7 seconds and the consumption level can go as low as 16.2mpg. New generation Bmw M3 CSL model

The Screenshot above shows the spy shots of what is thought to be the latest generation BMW M3 in the upgraded CSL spec. Its thought that the power will be increased upto 470bhp and that the CSL will loose around 100 Kilos of weight by swaping the bonnet for a carbon version and using thiner glass too. The previous CSL model M3 was a big hit with the Car magazines and road users due to its no compromise performance aspects and if this is the case with the latest M3 then it should be very poular. Many of the CSL’s were used on trackdays and this version should also have uprated suspension and semi slick tyres too.
