Mini Countryman 2010

The Mini Countryman is the latest in the range for the popular Mini model and it will go on sale in the UK from £17,000. Three petrol engines will be available along with two diesels – these include the 98 bhp Mini One D Countryman and the 181BHP Cooper S option. With the release of this new model Mini have also adjusted the Turbo engine in the Cooper S so that it now comes with a twin scroll turbocharged engine, direct fuel injection and variable valve management. The main difference is that the Countryman comes with four full doors and can even have optional four wheel drive or All4 as its known which works by alternating the power distrubution between the front and rear wheels. On the inside it comes with four full size seats or a three seat rear bench as a no cost option. Standard features include air con, cd player and other optional extras are panoramic glass sunroof, Sat nav, 19″ alloy wheels and sports suspension. Mini Speedster

Mini have followed on the heels of the TT Speedster with their own version of a very cool two seater drop top that should see its entry level model based around the rapid Cooper S version. Mini have been looking at a number of ways to expand their brand recently and this Speedster option comes after the recent Crossman 4×4 model was released. The platform the Speedster will use is based on the present convertible model but will see it abandon the small and generally poor rear seats. This model is set to be a styling classic, with a number of features to thrill car enthusiasts including roll hoops, and aggressive and wide stance and pumped out wheel arches it also retains the Cooper S twin exhausts, bonnet vent and tail lights. It will be fitted with an electric folding fabric roof similar to the Mini convertible to reduce weight but a removable hard top option will also be available.

Mini John Cooper Works Diesel

Mini have announced a car that certainly goes against the grain as far as performance Mini’s go in the new Diesel powered John Cooper works special edition model. Mini have finally given in and announced plans to improve the economy of their top model by installing the engine from the Cooper D increasing the output to 160bhp but with a decent level of torque. This is the model that appeals to real petrolheads so im not sure how this option will go down as it will lose a huge chunk of the petrol versions bhp.  Dont hold your breath though as its unlikely to be around any time this year especially with other Mini models in the pipeline such as the crossover Suv option.
