VW Jetta CC Compact coupe

This is the New Compact Coupe from Volkswagen as shown at the Detroit motor show 2010 and promises to be a mix of petrol engine performance and ultra efficient emissions with a high fuel economy. The reason the CC is able to deliver both these aspects is the fact that it will be powered by the 1.4 litre TSI engine with 150PS and 177lbs ft of torque linked to the seven speed DSG gearbox and electric lithium ion battery motor. The additional engine can work independently of the Petrol engine making this car a full Hybrid or it can provide an additional 27PS for overtaking manoeuvres. 0-62 is hit in 8.6 seconds with a top speed of 141mph and fuel economy is a massive 67.2 mpg on the combined cycle.

Some of the interesting features on this model include – 19″ Lugano alloy wheels as found on the Scirocco, bi-xenon headlights and the ability to have ‘Berry White’ leather interior fitted!

The new generation Flagship Golf is finally here and they have done away with the R32 badging as found over the last few years time. Code named the R20T this model will be the most powerful Vw Golf ever released as it will have around 270bhp available through its 2.0 litre turbo engine and so will have much less of a weight issue than the R32 with its 3.2 litre V6. 0-60 should be around 5 seconds making it only slightly slower than the curent BMW M3 model. This same engine will also be fitted to the new Scirocco R20T. The more common LED headlights are to be fitted along with a deeper front spoiler, an acoustically designed exhaust system and also underbody diffuser and roof spoiler should finish off the Sporty looks.

Volkswagen Golf tdi Bluemotion

Volkswagen has just released details for the super economy range of the new Golf based upon the 1.6 common rail diesel TDI engine and Bluemotion.Volkswagen have made sure that all new Golfs that are powered by this engine and five speed box achieve CO2 output of under 120g/km and the best of the bunch – the Bluemotion can manage 68.9 mpg on the combined cycle. Improved efficiency has been brough about by slight alterations including longer gear rations and better aerodynamics and drivetrain. The Bluemotion comes with a new stop-start system to shut down the engine when stationary and restarts when the clutch is lifted.

VW’s Bluemotion Golf is based around the SE specification and comes equiped with 7 airbags,ABS,Climatic air con,rain sensors, Auto lights and i-pod connector and cruise control.

VW Scirroco GTIR

With the dust settling on the recent launch of the all new MK6 Vw Golf plans have been announced to release the latest GTI version for Autumn 2009.With rivals such as Renault releasing the new Megane Renault sport shots at the recent Geneva motor show and Fords monster Focus RS also front page material – VW certainly had to release something to set pulses racing. The new GTI is expected to have increased power and be lighter than the last model so should be one to watch. The top performance model that will replace the R32 will ditch the v6 engine and instead use a turbo motor that looks quite a lot like the Audi S3 offering. Another aspect that will be similar to the Audi will be the 4 wheel drive specification that it is thought to be equipped with rather than the limited slip diffs that the Ford and Renault have.

VW have released details on the latest Polo Gti model due out in 2009 and its the badest looking version to date.The 2009 Polo Gti has an amazing agressive design and comes with the legendary black Gti grill with red outline as found on Golf varients. On the outside the Gti will come with enlarged wheel arches,roof spoiler and styling kit and the inside is equally specced out with sports seats and alu pedals.Size wise it is not far from the previous Polo’s size but will share a chassis with the all new Seat Ibiza. Engine wise the VW Polo Gti comes with the VW 1.4 TSI engine that packs both a turbo and a supercharger and puts out 178 bhp and 250nm torque. 0-60 times are 7 seconds with 140 mph top speed. The size of this excellent engine allows the Gti to have mpg of 40 with low co2 emissions.Expect to see the new Gti around september with models hitting showrooms early 2010 at £15,500.
